I’m Hinako Nishi, the creator of Beach Board Hong Kong, and a grade 11 student at Carmel School, Elsa High School. Growing up in Discovery Bay, Hong Kong, I developed a deep connection to the beach and witnessed the environmental challenges it faces.

Passionate about the environment, I wanted to create a product that would not only raise awareness but also empower children to take action. Inspired by my own experiences and the lack of in-depth knowledge surrounding beach issues, I developed a game that educates players about specific environmental problems and their solutions.

Through the development process, I brought the beaches of Hong Kong to life on the game board. Each space represents a different beach, and players will encounter informative cards that highlight the beach’s past issues and effective countermeasures.

My goal is to encourage children to develop a deeper understanding of environmental issues and inspire them to participate in beach cleanups and make individual contributions. By combining education with gameplay, I believe we can create a lasting impact on the well-being of our beaches.
